Tonight's results confirm what I've been saying for 20 years. The country is divided beyond repair. There's an east-west divide and it's unresolvable without opening the Constitution...and even then I have my doubts.

Well, first off. I'm no longer a proud Canadian today. I'm a proud Albertan. I'd like to congratulate the Toronto and GTA for fucking over Canadians for the 4th consecutive time. I'm fairly certain that Danielle Smith and Scott Moe, are likely drafting Referendum papers as we speak. And if David Eby saw the British Columbia voting map, he should consider it as well.

@DeanJC420 If the number of seats were exactly proportional to population, the East of this map would have roughly 230 seats, and the West would have 108.

The population of the Maritimes (Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick) is approximately 1.9 million. They recieve 32 seats in total. Alberta's population reached 5 million in 2025 and recieves 34 seats.

@adambeis The counting was slow in his riding because there were 90 or so candidates on the ballot. That means the voters and poll workers had to look through a list of 90 candidates before casting or counting ballets, rather than just 4 or 5.

I simply find it hard to believe that Pierre Poilievre lost his riding. He had a 87% probability of winning before the counting even began. The counting at the beginning was extremely slow.... and then suddenly the votes were released in huge numbers for Fanjoy. Unbelievable.

It's because he's shown to everyone on here. He is boosted by the algorithm in a way that no other candidate is. I kept getting notifications from him going live on this account, so I made several others, and didn't involve them with anything political. Of the 8 accounts I made, all of them get Elon tweet notifications, and 3 of them have Pierre tweets in their feed despite never interacting with anything political. They also occasionally see other conservative MPs tweets, and see alot of conservative influencers tweets. I haven't seen a single NDP or Liberal MP or Leaders tweets in any of the feeds yet. When he gets boosted like this to a broader and even non political audience, it's bound to put him in contact with more people who don't like him. It's important to note I don't have any real data on this. I've only used 10 accounts for this, and only 8 of them are indicative of anything, because I accidentally hesitated on a Pierre tweet in my feed on two od them, which would have made him appear more frequently in their algorithm. It definitely wouldn't consider this solid data, but it seems to me like the algorithm tends to like him more than other candidates.

I think it's pretty interesting that Pierre Poilievre's account gets the most negative comments on X compared to other social media platform. Despite it being the most right-wing.

They don't in competitive leagues, but the teams are still coed. Since posting that, I learned that this wasn't in a competitive league. Cis men and cis women compete against each other in the league they were in. The cis woman who took a knee was fencing against actual men a week earlier and won. She was competing against men and didn't complain before this. But suddenly, when it's a trans woman, she feels like it's unfair.

Fencing is not, at any competitive level, a mixed sex sport.

Just because something is to the left of you doesn't make it left wing. The CBC is to the right of me, but I've never called it right wing propaganda

Give us Maine and Alaska. That's it. You can keep the rest. The US overfishes its Alaskan waters, and it severely harms our shared fish stocks. If we have Alaska, we can put a stop to it and save the industry in the long run. As for Maine, I think it would be funny to call them "New New Brunswick" or, if you are a fan of puns, "Prince Edward Maineland".

Adding these 13 states and the District of Columbia to Canada would add a population of 108,527,176 people to Canada, effectively turning it into America 2.0. We want no part in that.
