The largest iteration of Op NANOOK to date. Canadian Army soldiers put their preparatory training to the test in Arctic conditions. From Inuvik to Cambridge Bay, our soldiers are working with the Canadian Rangers to enable a lasting presence in Canada's North.

It was great to interact with Canadian Rangers as part of my 5 Eyes engagement. Their deep understanding of our northern and remote regions is a unique strategic asset that we’re enhancing through modernization.

Troops from 1 PPCLI recently deployed to Japan to take part in Ex NORTH WIND. This cold-weather training pushed soldiers to operate in extremely austere environments, building trust and interoperability.

We’re strengthening our presence across the Arctic and the North. Exercises like Ex GLOBAL RESOLVE keep us #StrongProudReady by testing our members in some of the most challenging environments. (1/2)

Soldiers from 5th Canadian Division traveled to Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland & Labrador to conduct Ex MAROON NUNATSUAK. This test to sub-arctic readiness enables more Canadian Army soldiers to operate in the Arctic with skills learned on these readiness exercises.

Gunners from 1 RCHA deployed an M777 howitzer in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, the furthest north it's ever been in Canadian service. After over 1,400km of road moves in frigid conditions and an airlift by the RCAF, we achieved one of our key objectives for Op NANOOK-NUNALIVUT.

Great visit to the CAF Arctic Training Centre and the Polar Continental Shelf Program in Resolute Bay, Nunavut, with partners from across the Government of Canada. The insights gained will strengthen our ability to operate effectively in the Arctic's challenging environment.
