O país saía à rua para celebrar a conquista da liberdade e começava o seu caminho na construção da democracia. Este ano, celebramos 50 anos sobre a primeira escolha livre. Depois de quase meio século de ditadura, a 25 de abril de 1975 os portugueses foram às urnas. Dos 6,2 milhões de eleitores recenseados, 91,7% votaram, elegendo os deputados que iriam preparar e aprovar a nova Constituição. Esta mobilização permanece um recorde nacional. Também hoje saímos à rua. Comemoramos porque festejamos 50x2: 50 anos de Liberdade e 50 anos de Democracia. Esta é uma celebração nacional, em nome de uma sociedade mais conhecedora da sua história recente, mais participativa, inclusiva e democrática, que faça perdurar o legado de Abril.
