🥂3 years of E.V Cyborgs 🧵Three years of ups and downs although, if we look at the last one… it’s been only downs. That made me reflect on something. The birth of E.V Cyborgs happened in a very difficult year, marked by sacrifices. The second year was by far the best: it brought us to the sold-out of the collection and was packed with IRL events and much more. So much happened in such a short time. The third year, instead, hit all of us with a dramatic collapse on every front. I don’t feel like blaming the $EGLD or the team. We were one step away from the goal, i.e buying the event hall. We had the chance to convert into stablecoins, and we didn’t do it for two reasons: the mint was still ongoing, and none of us felt comfortable selling EGLD at $50–$80. We thought we would first hit sold-out, and then see EGLD at least around $100–$120. If we could go back, we would make a different choice, one that wouldn’t have led us to see the collected funds drop over –90% in value. But of course, we can’t. What we can do is look to the future. And I won’t hide it: it doesn’t look as bright as I would like. Or at least it doesn’t seem so right now. I think back to the dark moments we faced together in the first year, when we had a thousand reasons to stop, yet we didn’t. Together, despite everything, we created things and connections that are hard to explain. I want to believe that this third year has been similar to the first: marked by challenges. And of course, it has left deep marks. It probably killed the motivation and maybe the trust of many of you. It drained a lot of your and my own energy and resources, pushing me down mentally more than I’d like to admit. Ours isn’t a project that sustains itself through constant new inflows, except for the small amount generated by staking. Instead, we’re consuming funds raised years ago. We have many subscriptions and fixed monthly costs. Maybe we should start cutting something, but it’s hard to give up things that are actually needed. We’ll have to evaluate and manage it. Over time, the discord server and project have seen a drop in interest and excitement, surely aligned with the overall sentiment of the market and especially with the poor performance of MultiversX. I’ll take part of the responsibility for the lack of recent activities on discord. I went from being online 12–16 hours a day, fully dedicated to the project, to working 9–10 hours a day at my old job in the aerospace and defense sector. Managing an entire department drains all my energy. Like all of you, I also have a family and a private life to take care of and honestly, 24 hours a day simply aren’t enough to fit everything in. What I wish for myself, and for all of you, in this new year ahead is to find again that spark we had in the second year. The spark we found after taking hit after hit. We had 1000 reasons to quit, yet we found 1001 reasons to keep going. I can’t promise you anything except this: I will always try to find that one extra reason not to give up and I hope to have you by my side, just like you’ve always been. Happy anniversary to us, Cyborgs! 🫂

Weekly recap #149 A very important week for the MultiversX community, as everyone is being called to share their feedback on the proposed new EGLD tokenomics. For us, both the outcome and the market’s reaction will be crucial. As we all know, our main goal remains the purchase of the venue for IRL events. A goal directly tied to the performance of $EGLD, which has been, to say the least, disappointing in recent years given our full exposure. This situation has slowed us down and forced us to spend more resources than expected on various developments, even though we’ve done our best to minimize costs. We’ve been standing still for too long in this regard, and the next steps will be critical for us. It feels somewhat like a moment of truth. Curious and hopeful to see what the future holds.
