@nick_underhill I would’ve love to see Shough start week 1 and face the teams rattler had to. I think ppl would have a different opinion

@GiantsRuinedMe @cotswamp @tjayjones8 Bone breaks are the only injuries that heal back 100%. They are unlucky injuries that are not predictive of future issues or a decline in play. Soft tissue injuries are the ones you have to worry about.

#Giants fans are upset that Tyler Shough has taken attention away from Jaxson Dart. Dart came in the league as a highly touted QB unlike Shough. Every bit of attention Shough has gotten he's earned. Dude was such an afterthought people didn't even take the time to learn how to pronounce his last name. #Saints

A round of changes are going out tomorrow and after reading some comments I want to clarify that this week's changes were already done and dusted when I posted the feedback thread last week. I posted that thread Thursday and didn't even start parsing the responses in earnest until Saturday. We did not work through the weekend to make those changes in response to that thread. A lot of the adjustments coming this week and in the next few weeks are just that; adjustments. Generally they are not redesigns. We have more adjustments coming, but a lot of the data gathered from that thread is just to help us identify (or confirm what we already knew about) problems as you see them for the future to inform potential redesigns. Really appreciate the replies to that thread, but I didn't want anyone to get the idea that this week's updates were the "grand reveal" of changes to come from that thread. Thanks! us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/seaso…

@AggrendWoW @KianOlausson Guilds that want to blast through easy content can move up to 40 man, guilds that want to challenge themselves can stay with their current 20 and feel that they are earning more than just numbers on a third party website.

@AggrendWoW @KianOlausson If you guys still plan on eventually moving up to 40 man raids you could satisfy both people who want easy raids and challenging raids by adding some kind of cosmetic reward for clearing the raid with less than 20 people. Basically an activated hardmode without the work.

@AggrendWoW Have you considered adding Ulduar-style Hardmodes to raids that rewards extra item drops (6 items instead of 4 etc, rather than stronger gear)? Should satisfy players seeking a challenge, and also those casual players wanting a quick clear.

@AggrendWoW @evangelism I think there's a lot of wiggle room between "the average casual guild can clear this place their first night with no preraid gear/buffs/consumes" and "the average casual guild can clear this place in a couple of nights after grinding their preraid gear and coming prepared"

Being very honest, the goal is for very semi-casual guilds to kill SoD raids fairly quickly, especially these level up raids. I'm sorry if your guild wants a heroic-level challenge, but SoD just isn't that.  The raid that went out last week was just very overtuned and far beyond our intent for a variety of reasons I won't bore you with here. Not to say there won't ever be anything in SoD that's hard, but we don't currently believe the "critical path" of raiding (I.e clearing the raid each week and getting good gear from it) should be hard in this version of vanilla classic. There are other versions of WoW that have very, very difficult content.  In fact there are more versions of WoW than not that have very difficult content. As it stands now both Gnomer and even post-post nerf ST are vastly more challenging and require way more coordination than original WoW. One thing we like about the various flavors of classic is that in many cases the difficulty of raiding in vanilla wow is what players create for themselves by pushing their performance in things like speed runs and the like. I think long term we'd like to do better about supporting those types of emergent playstyles, but making raids a brick wall for the average joe isn't the approach we'll likely take. I understand if that may disappoint some folks but after several years of watching data around classic player behavior, we don't believe difficult raid content is what players actually want on this side of the WoW spectrum. Individuals and some groups may want it, but writ large most people seem to just want to chill and blast stuff with their friends and that's the goal we'd like to aim for for the average guild.

@AggrendWoW I thought we were supposed to be getting more loot in ST to compensate the increased raid size or at the very least the longer lockout? Just did our first and the loot was the same-ish per boss.

@AggrendWoW @evangelism Hate to hear it but appreciate the honest response. I don't think anyone is looking for mythic or even heroic level raids in SOD, but the version of ST we had after the first set of nerfs at least required us to engage with the content and improve our characters to clear.

@AggrendWoW @evangelism What kind of difficulty do you plan to aim for future SOD raids? ST initially looked like it might actually take a bit of gear progression for the average guild to full clear which was very cool, but it's been nerfed 3(4?) times by now. Is this just because it isn't lvl60?

It’s 5 or more items up from 2 and set piece tokens are on every boss. You’ll gear up fast and there’s a lot of other sources for gear to tide you over until you get to things from the raid. We toyed with even more drops per boss but it really just started to feel not quite right. In general going forward I think we want to try to aim for you have options between different activities to gear up so we don’t just have raiding be the only thing you ever want to do to progress. Especially at 60, we have a lot of vectors for this (crafting, pvp, reputations, dungeons, and potentially more wild gods-esque deterministic systems). This feels better to us than just throwing the kitchen sink at you in the raids.

Yeah I'm not going to lie, the bug fix was unfortunate but needed. The current interaction just wasn't a good way to give this life, even thought it was definitely fun to discover new tech (even if its just a bug). I personally want to see us revisit this with other ideas of ways to try and keep encouraging that playstyle though and we already have a few ideas. We are open to feedback or suggestions on ways to keep shockadin fun and interesting though! Can't promise we'll be able to implement any of them but it's great to read cool ideas.

Here's a look at next week's class adjustments. Normal disclaimer applies: Just because your class/spec/etc. isn't listed in here doesn't mean we've abandoned you, it just means we haven't gotten to you yet. Also, no weekly update will "fix" every issue with a class, we must manage change responsibly, and we must make incremental changes to help minimize the impact of unintended interactions. @AggrendWoW @EdvinKosenkov I don't know if going from every hunter using scoprid to every hunter using wind serpent count as more variety. I'm not sure if wind serpents are performing differently on your internal testing server than they are on live, but they are more broken than scorpid was.

@EdvinKosenkov I think that after today’s hotfixes you should see a bit more variety. It’s sort of the nature of game design that there will always be some sort of general “best” but some are situationally better than others which is great.

We plan to try and stick with a once a week cadence for class adjustments and here's a peek at what we have planned for tomorrow. We do still plan on more adjustments for hunters and a few of those are still TBD. Thanks for your patience as work on this! us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/seaso…

@AggrendWoW The sweatlord consensus on vanilla has been that alliance is stronger due to paladins for a long, long time. Despite this, in 2019 horde was the much more populous faction. Actual gameplay balance barely matters. Factions must be actively curated through faction queues/transfers.

To add to my other post; please please please don’t make faction decisions based on what is “best”. There is no best and they will both be great. Play what you want to play and don’t let a fictional meta ruin your experience before it even starts. This is the whole point of SoD.

@AggrendWoW @Lezzemos @Blenderer If RMT/Gold selling is a problem, how does offering an official avenue to engage in it mitigate the problem? As someone who thinks players being able to buy power/an advantage is bad, why do I care if they buy it from Blizzard or a third party?

@Lezzemos @Blenderer This is a tool that helps mitigate RMT. Probably saying the quiet part out loud; but RMT/Gold Selling is not beatable. It can be mitigated in gradients, but its never killable. Token is a proven tool to mitigate it. This is all I'm going to say about this on my personal twitter.

@StaySafeWarlock Raid frames are nice, just do what UI mods do but better. Having to buy smoke flares to use instead of ground markers was more immersive and RPG-y but not the end of the world. The debuff issues are the big ones for sure.
