As someone who is just never around alcohol I found the experience of smelling it and being around lots of drunk people yesterday extremely uncomfortable.
I washed my clothes and myself as soon as I got back home just to get rid of the stench.
Leaving religion aside, I just don't get why anyone would drink something that is obviously so bad for your health and which deprives you of self control.
I know that alcohol is a major part of many people's lives here and perhaps that's even more true for the working class. But the devil's brew is the devil's brew and anyone who avoids it has an instant advantage in life.
