That standard is unacceptable, and it cannot become normalized. Let what happened in Brampton serve as a lesson for all municipalities across Canada: Reject division. Choose unity. Visible enforcement and timely action are essential to maintaining public confidence and deterring further incidents at the same time, this must be part of a broader and sustained approach. There is a clear expectation that further progress will follow, including charges being laid against those responsible for the recent shootings targeting synagogues. These incidents cannot remain unresolved. Toronto's Jewish community is looking for consistent enforcement, accountability, and a proactive response that addresses the full scope of what has been taking place.
