Ahead of Game 5, the @EdmontonOilers celebrated the life of John Garrett 💙

No, no, I’m totally fine, it’s just raining on my face a little bit. This was a really lovely touch from the panel, and so well spoken from Murph and Shorty. ❤️

Going through all the tributes for John Garrett has been really emotional. I’ve been tearing up all day, he meant so much and truly felt like family to so many of us. Today feels heavy 💔

I am soooo sad to hear about John Garrett. Him and Shorty will forever be the only two voices I hear when I think of the Canucks. RIP 💔

Even when the team sucked, moments like this from Shorthouse and Garrett made it still fun to watch.

John Garret was the voice of so many of our childhoods, the voice that made us fall in love with the game. Rest in peace legend 💙 ❤️

The best part of watching the #Canucks was always John Garrett. His voice, his smile, his hockey insights- made every game feel special. It truly feels like a personal loss. He was part of the experience, part of the memories. RIP, Cheech. A true legend of the game 🌹❤️

This one hurts. John Garrett was a constant for so many of us growing up. No matter how the Canucks were playing you could always feel his love for the game and for life. He brought joy to every broadcast. And by all accounts, he was a rare, special kind of person. RIP Cheech.
