@Biohazard3737 Not saying the bond won't be covered, but Starlink ARPU is through the floor, and the Chinese are landing rockets.
English

TBH, that bond looks pretty interesting.
Hard to see how Starlink doesn’t become a major cash cow or how the launch business gets disrupted.

@HML_Compounder @orrdavid Anyway, yeah, the original Brady-Jared Act stuff seemed straightforward. The post-Floyd teen curfew and tightened teen driving regs stuff is a different phenomenon.
English

@HML_Compounder @orrdavid I doubt they pay zero rent, probably just highly subsidized through various programs
English

This is completely insane, and I had no idea. We ... banned 16 year olds from driving around with their friends? Why?
Modern society has taken safety *WAY* too far.
borger@floydmaseve
@BorjomiDrinker Driving around with buddies is something older generations took for granted. Another thing safetyism and nannying has taken away.
English

@CapitalShipyard @orrdavid Absurd take. I’m not arguing for this law/restriction, but I’ve seen many examples of where a young/new driver is more reckless and distracted when surrounded by young friends than not, and these aren’t “youths” or criminals or whatever other code you want to use.
English

@orrdavid Zoning is the same thing. Since we refuse to put criminals away, we keep them at bay by making entire zipcodes too expensive for them to enter.
English

@orrdavid "Youths". Basically society is too squeamish to imprison those who actually commit crime, so it criminalizes the behavior that sits upstream of crime. Like how we have draconian gun permitting laws but lax laws around actual shootings.

What's interesting to me is that valuations have exploded even as AI fundamentals have gotten worse and AGI dreams have continued to recede. "Your ROIC is in another castle"
🦍@stoked_on_waves
So ok the memory companies are issuing capital at their highest valuations ever to do capex to build capacity for wild demand, while their unprofitable marginal end users are starting a price war?

@CapitalShipyard Still gonna reinvest all the profits at -5% real rates in rapidly depreciating JPY🤭

@BTCoptioneer If there's more demand for prefs in a bear market, then why did $mstr have to raise the $strc dividend as $btc fell?
English

@CapitalShipyard There will be more demand for prefs during a bear market. Right now, they are viewed as too risky.
English

$MSTR managed to achieve a BTC yield of 7.8% YTD.
That’s remarkable considering Bitcoin is down -30% YTD.
