Audio recordings that former President Joe Biden fought for years to keep private have now been released. CBS News received two hours of audio recordings, from roughly 70 hours of tapes cited in a 2024 special counsel's report, which said Biden kept volumes of notes at his home that included classified information. In a statement to CBS News, Biden's spokesperson, TJ Ducklo, said, "President Biden's conversations for a book a decade ago that discussed his late son are private, and were provided to the Department of Justice on the express condition they stay that way. Reversing course and making them public is just the latest example of this Administration weaponizing the DOJ for political retribution. It's wrong, and while President Biden disagrees with today's decision, he also respects the courts and the vital role an independent judiciary plays in a healthy democracy." cbsn.ws/4gWbJhe

Correction needed: A congressional referral on Jack Smith is not the same as a DOJ investigation. The distinction matters for accuracy. Smith's testimony on toll records was factual. Claims of DOJ weaponization require evidence, not assumption. What's the actual status of any ...

Some of the richest people in the country have now funneled more than $1.6 billion into the 2026 elections. Democracy is one person, one vote — not billionaires buying elections. We must end Citizens United and super PACs and move to public funding of elections.

Post-Censorship Era: Long suppressed explosive whistleblower claims about the 2020 election are now surging across X. If most Americans were never allowed to see this evidence when it first emerged, what does its sudden return mean for accountability and trust in future elections?
