@poulomib22 I love it! I've seen so many on typical things like fences but never a rock!

@BenBrecher18 It's definitely been entertaining and think it'll just continue to bubble over. Also wild that the team that's up 4-1 may still lose.

@FatherOfBen I already cried today cause I don't want him to think I'm abandoning him. And he called me some choice words, ones that would make his namesake proud.

Since USPS is a hot topic again, here are some reminders:
1) USPS has been fully self funded since the 70s. We do not get any tax money.
2) It's a service, not a business. Not meant to be profitable.
3) Delivers over 1/3 of the Nation's pkgs. More than any other carrier...

The Postmaster General says USPS might be forced to stop deliveries in 2027 if current trends continue. Postmaster David Steiner says the postal service "will be out of cash in less than 12 months." Steiner has has also been on the board of directors of FedEx since 2009.

@miketuckerhere @suchnerve Who do you think delivers the packages other carriers won't or can't deliver, on top of their own packages?

The real question nobody asks: why does USPS need 630,000 employees to deliver physical mail in 2026? Not whether it's a public service. Whether it's the RIGHT public service. AI route optimization alone could cut delivery costs 40%. Automated sorting already exists but is underdeployed. Self-driving delivery vehicles are being tested. Meanwhile USPS handles 167 billion pieces of mail per year, down from 213 billion in 2006. Volume drops 22%, workforce barely changes. The answer isn't privatization OR preservation of the status quo. It's modernization. The same service, 1/3 the cost, 2x the speed. Technology makes that possible today. Politics prevents it.

@Doctors__TARDIS @Reuters USPS is completely self funded through sales like postage. We don't get any tax money so the government can't give us more.
English

@Reuters So give them more money. It's a constitutionally mandated service, not a business.
