@miztetra There was a cross on a rock with an anchor on top, that was on the ground near the grave in a pic I saw. Good that all the parts are still there, hopefully it'll get reassembled. 😅

@itsjustmarla11 The book is definitely fun to read! There are so many inaccuracies that I'm writing a whole new biography, but the most important ones are that Fitzjames wasn't born in Brazil, there was no scandal with the Barrow family, & Fitzjames' illegitimacy didn't hinder his career at all.

@saintishly Ugh, wish they could've done some preventive restoration. Ross family, step up and pay to have your most illustrious ancestor's grave repaired. 😞 Only the owner of the grave plot can give permission for repairs so that person better be alive.

@cmdrgore @saintishly I'm kind of going through a similar thing with John Barrow's grave (which is thankfully intact but needs repairs) and only the owner of the grave can give permission for works to be carried out. So I'm hoping that John Ross' grave has a living & caring owner.

@LadyHamilton84 Yeah, they were monitoring the grave monument. I'm hoping that they removed it for restoration, instead of it having collapsed! Ain't no grave's gonna hold John Ross down.

@CaptFitzjamesRN Nooo! 😢 Wasn't that a sensort strapped to it? Surely whoever put it there knows it collapsed. Was he.....trying to break out?
