@basketofbrushes I would say it's better to say people who have periods/uteruses than afab depending on what you mean, as not everyone afab has these, & also ppl on estrogenising hrt do experience almost every part of a period aside from the bleeding itself as they undergo the same hormone cycle!

I've said it before but I'll say it again—you should remove agab language from your vocabulary. It is not a more progressive alternative to "(fe)male (bodied)", it is not an adjective, noun, nor an identity, it is a coercive process that happens to everybody at birth

Be specific about what you mean—if you are talking about people who are affected by misogyny, say that (misogynised). If you are talking about the marginalisation of non-cis men, say that (marginalised genders). If you mean people with uteruses, say that. So on and so forth.

Agab is useful terminology but only in the very specific context of discussing how the institution of sexgender is upheld and enforced onto people at birth. It is not very useful outside of that.

I have recently seen some harmful rhetoric surrounding discussions I am centred in. I want to express my concerns surrounding it. This is not to take away from my previous apology. I want to separate the conversations so as not to mud the waters of genuine critique of my actions

Over the past day, I have been fairly criticized for my impulsive decision to respond to OwengeJuiceTV's initial stance on genAI in game development. I want to express my deepest apologies for the rash response and explain my thoughts

@basketofbrushes Of course no worries! Transmisogyny is an insidious thing that often permeates through false progressivism, masquerading as feminism and leveraging genuine grievances with misogyny, it is easy to internalise and repeat these ideas without even realising it.

@CaptainHarrie Honestly its a bit too easy to fall into transmisogyny, thank you so much for screenshotting and spreading these. I definitely myself still have work to do

@Snooboo_ Absolutely, it's unfortunate. I am "lucky" enough to have had brushes with internet popularity since a young age that I had my trial-by-fire pr training while the stakes were low, but anyone can suddenly gain an audience at any time and find themselves ill prepared for it

@Snooboo_ Most people have the luxury of figuring out their sexuality and their gender without being thrust prominently in the public eye, ykwim? Hopefully they will have learnt from these past incidents

@Snooboo_ I have seen multiple different people say it was weird for him to come out in March, because according to them "the conversation was about women and afabs" or if they're feeling a little more sly "non-men". I am glad that you are not seeing this, but it is out there I'm afraid.

@Snooboo_ Atp I have repeatedly seen people calling him a man, saying that they should not have inserted themself into "conversations about non-men", and that he has "male privilege", which is just another way to make their bioessentialism sound progressive

i love healthy critique as much as the next guy but can some of y'all stop being blatantly fucking transphobic for 2 seconds, it's genuinely quite upsetting to see as a trans creator 👍

Thank you on the info! I had assumed something like that, but it has always seemed like certain ads get through one or the other. Funny enough, privacy possum and ghostery are usually the ones breaking, but I did not know about ghostery doing that either. I'll look into this and improve my stack, or lack thereof in the future. Thank you for taking the time to type out and correct/teach. It is much appreciated, no sarcasm <3

Better suggestion, DO NOT use the app. Use a browser with extensions to block ads and tracking. Browser still has media. The app also injects ads disguised as posts. If you've come across a post that you can't click "I'm not interested" or "show less" but it doesn't say it's an ad, it's because of the app. You won't ever make your data and tracking perfectly blocked, but you can make sure to avoid ads affecting you. My personal stack with firefox because I hate that type of crap: 1. ublock origin 2. Adblocks Plus 3. Ghostery 4. Ad Nauseum 5. Ghostery 6. Privacy Possum 7. Privacy Badger
