Very unfortunate timing yesterday pitting from the lead and the safety car coming out 20 seconds later. As frustrating as it was, that’s racing sometimes. Glad to see @OllieBearman walk away from the crash 🙏 More racing soon and thanks for all of the support! 🇯🇵

@jp_utah @BanterSteiner @fia Because sustainable fuels is the future and needs development. It has more road relevance than anything else in F1.

@CarMadSA @BanterSteiner @fia Why do they need to run sustainable fuels? The cars account for less than 1% of the total F1 emissions. It’s just virtue signaling bull crap!

Why on earth would FOM explicitly listen to a single driver who's mad at the regs because he's no longer up there fighting for wins? I call BS, but then weirder things had happened in this sport.

According to @F1Maximaal_nl, Max Verstappen and F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali are set to have dinner together soon, amid ongoing discussions over the current regulations. [f1maximaal.nl/opinie/verstap…]

@F1_driven The racer of all racers hates the cars that are barely racing cars and require only computing skills. Right. We have mario karts with boost buttons and overtake buttons and joules of power instead of talking about 1,000HP 20K RPM monsters. Yet Max is the issue. Right.

@DailyInvestorSA Any husband/wife with 2 kids in avg pvt schools cannot live with less than R300k gross combined per month. R100k was big a decade ago. Now its border line entry level for MID-level living. R100k school fees is R155k gross per kid. R300k just for school!!

An individual earning R100,000 per month in South Africa takes home about R67,965 after PAYE and payroll taxes, but once costs for private services like education and healthcare are included, a large portion of that income is eroded. dailyinvestor.com/finance/126023…

@MarcoHeil1 @brakeboosted No KERS!! Just pure normally aspirated power. Just bring back the 2004/2005 V10 regs. Simple engines. Add in some updates for allowable materials, multi-direct injection, coated chambers etc. And the big change, to run on sustainable fuel. Drop the min weight. 2026 aero.

@brakeboosted @CarMadSA Such massive changes (V10 Kers etc.) might not even be possible for the 2028 season. And that doesn’t include a breach of contract since manufacturers paid for it in advance if I recall that right.

Have been saying this since the start of the season. A near 50/50 split simply doesn't work when your only meaningful energy source is braking via the MGU-K. They won't go back to what we had before, so realistically you have to start looking at something closer to a 65/35 split as the upper limit of an MGU-K-focused formula. Anything beyond that becomes unsustainable from a sporting perspective unless you introduce another recovery mechanism. Too many competing interests from manufacturers, so I highly doubt we settle on a device or mechanism to harvest energy from a secondary source. That's exactly how we ended up here in the first place. So to reduce superclipping you need more power available to accelerate the car after the MGU-K applies its negative torque at full ICE load to harvest energy. Fundamentally, it's a question of shifting the balance back toward the ICE. Simple as that. You also give the driver a bit more room to make a difference when optimal energy management is less important, which should be the priority in my opinion. That can be accomplished by decreasing the MGU-K peak power output, which is the most likely short-term solution. Alternatively, increase the ICE's power output by increasing fuel flow limits and other ICE performance restrictors. The latter is a long-term solution with a bucketload of consequences that are not feasible mid-season. You also want to avoid the cars getting much heavier in the process. I'm sure there are many other options, but I'm trying to keep in mind that these changes must be approved within the next few months in order to be ready for 2027.

I'm hearing some interesting admissions off the back of Suzuka - namely, that there's a growing awareness within the FIA that the 50/50 split has been the wrong direction. It's understood that, in the short-term, energy deployment limits are being looked at while, longer-term, a change in the ICE vs. electrical split. Getting the drivers and teams in alignment is a hurdle to clear, with the teams not all agreeing with their drivers on the issues, but there is an awareness now that changes are needed. #F1 #JapaneseGP

@thomasmaheronf1 And changing the regs to say 75% ICE 25% electric is even dumber than the current regs. So they must haul all the woke hybrid paraphernalia around to generate 25% power for a few seconds a lap? Just get rid of it all. Bring back the NA V10 or V8 on biofuels. SIMPLE!

@tiff_tv @bernie_collins1 The only thing the FIA needs to announce is that in ‘28 we’re moving to naturally aspirated 3.0L V10’s running on sustainable fuels And that the min weight will be dropped 100kg to 150kg because of the removal of the woke hybrid paraphernalia. These regs are an embarrassment

I think @bernie_collins1 summed it up perfectly in a post race discussion. The problem is that whatever you now change will help some teams more than others so very hard to impose against those that got it right in the first place ...
Chris King 🇦🇺🇬🇧🏁@CMKsince1980

@tiff_tv @SkySportsF1 Ok fair enough but I want it fixed then, not just whinged about. The correction to the regs ideas I've seen so far either start with "this won't work" or are effectively "let's give up and end F1". Do you have an effective solution?

@BBCSport And aside from the safety disaster, the racing is a joke and you are about to lose your biggest star. Arguably the best or very least Top3 all time driver - Max. If Max retires because of the regs - you face disaster! Bring back the V10 (or the V8) running on sustainables!!

Watching the Koepka group at the Houston Open and there’s almost nobody following them and there’s alot of empty areas in general. It seems like the last 2 @PGATOUR tournaments are lacking in juice.
