AI for Low-Pesticide Agriculture @garrytan Farmers are stuck in a bad loop: use more chemicals, get diminishing results, pay more, take on more risk. And they can't just stop, because if pests win, crops die. AI that can identify individual weeds in real time, robotics that can treat one plant instead of blanketing a field, and new biological solutions mean this problem finally looks solvable.

“Because we have internal documents, for one thing, that show exactly what they knew and that they knew it. There’s actually things in these documents that are so egregious—like right now in Europe, the type of agricultural Roundup that we use is banned. But what they say is glyphosate isn’t banned in the EU, and that’s true—but the formulation of Roundup that we use in the United States is banned because it’s so toxic. They know how to make these products safer—we have their internal communications to know that they’re lying to us—but instead of owning up and putting a warning on the label, they’re going after immunity.” @ZachLahn

Farmer and Iowa Gubernatorial candidate Zach Lahn shares concern about the direction of the state. “I tell people, we have the fastest rate of new cancer in the history of human civilization.” “And our kids are leaving our state faster than 46 other states.” “If your kids are leaving and your people are dying, you’re not winning. @ZachLahn

Thousands of U.S. farmers are battling Parkinson's—and they're pointing fingers at paraquat, a weed killer so toxic one sip can kill, banned in over 70 countries... yet still sprayed on American fields by the millions of pounds each year. Farmers like Mac Barlow (Alabama), Dave Gilbert (Ohio vineyard), Paul Friday (Michigan peaches), and families like Terry McGrath's (6 relatives with Parkinson's from farm exposure) are suing Syngenta, claiming years of spraying led to their disease. Over 6,500 lawsuits now consolidated in federal MDL, with bellwether trials settling (e.g., first Philly case resolved Jan 2026) and settlement talks advancing—some call it nearing resolution. Big twist in 2026: Syngenta just announced it'll stop producing paraquat globally by June—amid mounting pressure, EPA reassessing safety (announced Jan 2026), and imports (mostly Chinese) still fueling use. The EPA insists science doesn't prove the Parkinson's link; Syngenta denies claims. But with skull-and-crossbones labels, strict licensing, and stories of fatal spills (one farmer died 34 days after accidental exposure), critics ask: Why is the U.S. one of the last holdouts? Clip from this eye-opening report—toxic truth hitting hard. Does this change how you view "regulated" pesticides? Should the U.S. follow the global bans? Or is it essential for farming? Your thoughts—let's unpack it.

Glyphosate and other pesticides don’t belong on our food or in our children’s bodies. We are systematically poisoning ourselves. These chemicals are in our cereals, our fruits, our vegetables. Foods we feed our kids every single day. Glyphosate has been linked to cancer, hormone disruption, and developmental issues. Yet it’s sprayed on crops across America because it’s profitable. Stop poisoning our kids.

Instead of spraying chemicals… They’re blasting weeds with AI-powered lasers. An onion farmer in South Texas was spending $1,500 per acre on pesticides and labor. Now? Just $300 per acre with their LaserWeeders. That’s over $1,000 saved per acre on 8,000 acres. Plus: • 30% increase in productivity • 3-week shorter onion growing season • Pays for itself in 9 months

Paul Mikesell is easily one of the most down to earth CEOs I’ve ever talked to. I’ll be honest, I was incredibly nervous going into this podcast. We’ve all heard the advice ‘never meet your heroes’ … the fear that someone you admire for their technical brilliance will be somber or unapproachable. Paul is the exact opposite Despite @pmikesell fascinating mind and the massive scale of what he’s building at @carbon_robotics he talked to me like a regular guy and even played along with my cheesy bits! It is mind blowing to see someone execute such a high level vision entirely in house 🤯 What he’s doing with the LaserWeeder isn't just cool ag tech, it is super important to the future of humanity and how we sustain ourselves 🌱 It’s rare to find that mix of genius level execution, global impact, and a genuine sense of humor. I’m truly appreciative of the support and for a conversation I won't soon forget!🫡

@Dennisofcourse @NatureMomentz Yes, we have had some growers who were going to have to go back to conventional but tried LaserWeeder and it saved their organic program. Other growers are considering moving to organic now because of LaserWeeder.
