@SLT_Francesca @PearsonEdexcel I’ve recently been sent modified language papers for gcse (in wales) for science, history and media… I didn’t even know these existed to even ask for them in the past. Not very modified, but hoping it’s a start. Not sure if there is the same in England?

I wish we’d make exam papers more accessible for YP with language disorders @PearsonEdexcel - this is a functional skills Level 1. Why can’t the number be numerical?

@NMieszkowski @RCSLT Couldn’t find any info on who writes the course content! Half tempted to buy it to see what is “taught”

@CardiffSaLT Googled and found easy enough. It’s down to £19.99 from £425.00 apparently 🙄. “establish a personal brand, and present a portfolio of relevant talents.” Wonder if @rcslt is aware?

12 whole minutes to learn how to diagnose and treat?! Unless it’s 12 mins of discussing the role of a qualified SLT, then I’d like a refund on my 4 year degree! Who regulates this stuff?! 🙄

@IlyehNahdiSLT Yes I keep seeing them popping up. And it’s the comments on them that alarm me, with people tagging friends saying “this looks good/ we should do this” etc. I’m half tempted to buy it just to see what is “taught”

Schools having to make redundancies, cut valuable services and avoiding providing needed additional learning provisions due to budgets. It’s such a worrying time. So many children still trying to catch up from Covid and the language gap is only widening 😩

What a week! We are so pleased to welcome our first @CMUSLT_SOC y2 speech therapy students this week! 🤩 We are really proud to be providing an independent setting placement for the future therapists in Wales! We hope they love it as much as we do! @cardiffmet

@Elin484 @RCSLT @RHNuk @RCSLTWales @CAVUHB_SLT Hi Elin we run a virtual cafe group for a group of mixed communication abilities (some severe aphasia, mild aphasia, cog comm, dysarthria etc.) on a Tuesday x3 times a month (we meet in person on the 4th Tuesday) let me know if that might be of use?
