On behalf of the Christians of the #MiddleEast, and of all women and men of good will, I appeal to those responsible for this conflict: cease fire! May paths of dialogue be reopened! Violence can never lead to the justice, stability and peace for which the peoples are waiting.

Blessed to be at St. Albert the Great Church in Burbank for their delicious annual fish fry. Thank you to all the volunteers who make this tradition possible here and all across @archchicago.

We congratulate Bishop-elect Mullen on his appointment to the Diocese of Belleville by our Holy Father Pope Leo XIV. He has distinguished himself as a college professor, an able administrator and a proven pastor, serving the People of God and the Church with humility and devotion for more than 30 years. We are confident he will be a strong and compassionate leader for the Belleville diocese, and we look forward to working with him.

Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago and I are on a pilgrimage in honor of the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicea as an expression of our desire for Christian unity. We met with the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew and look forward to being received by Pope Leo in the coming week.
