“Great is the Lord and wholly to be praised in the city of our God. His holy mountain, fairest of heights, is the joy of all the earth” (Ps 48). St. Kateri Tekakwitha, pray for us.

Holy Mother of God, you pondered the mysteries of God’s love in your heart (cf. Lk 2:51) and you responded generously to the invitation to give yourself unconditionally to your Son and His Church. Pray for us, Loving Mother.

“See, you lowly ones, and be glad; you who seek God, may your hearts revive! For the Lord hears the poor, and his own who are in bonds he spurns not” (Ps 69). Our Redeemer comforts all who are imprisoned—physically, emotionally or spiritually—and sets them free.

Mary our Mother, show us the way to Jesus. Help us to remain in Him and to carry out the work He entrusted to us, His missionary disciples.

“The Kingdom of God is at hand: repent and believe in the Gospel” (cf. Mk 1:15). This is the message we have received and are called to proclaim to the ends of the earth.

Queen of Peace, we implore you to help us heal the divisions in our hearts, our families, our society and our Church. Help us to work for peace with justice among all nations and peoples.

Today we honor St. Benedict of Nursia, the founder of Benedictine monasticism. Through his intercession may we learn to prefer nothing to the love of Christ.

Holy Mary, teach us to reflect prayerfully on the Word of God and to trust that God’s grace is sufficient to meet all our needs.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens” (Eph 1:3). We are called to be Spirit-filled evangelizers who freely share our blessings with others.

Mary, Queen of Peace, teach us to forgive one another and to always choose respectful, nonviolent means of settling our differences with one another.

O God, who in your wonderful providence have strengthened your Church through the confession of St. Augustine Zhao and companions, grant that your people, faithful to the mission entrusted to it, may enjoy ever greater freedom and witness to the truth before the world (Collect).

Holy Mother of God, lead us to your Son, Jesus, so that we can be united with Him and with each other.

“I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise always on my lips; in the Lord my soul shall make its boast. The humble shall hear and be glad” (Ps 34). Let us rejoice in Him!

Mary, Stella Maris (Star of the Sea), show us the way to your Son. Be our sure guide in times of trouble.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed are they who seek refuge in him” (Ps 34). Our Redeemer offers himself as our source of refuge from all harm.

“Turn then, O most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.”

St. Maria Goretti, pray for us. Inspire us with your great love to forgive our enemies and to pray for those who sin against us.

Mother of Mercy, teach us to love God, revealed to us in the Face of your Son, Jesus, and to trust in God’s infinite mercy.

“Come, you blessed of my Father, says the Lord: I was sick, and you visited me. Amen, I say to you: Whatever you did for one of the least of my brethren you did it for me.” (cf. Mt 25: 34–40). All who have loved and served others are welcome in God’s kingdom.
