Writing “lab” today- using our senses to explode a moment. Explored and charted about cheese balls to write a descriptive piece. Results were delicious!

Hexagonal thinking today! Loved seeing all the connections these kids could make with these pieces.

Building sociograms in our book clubs today. I love that I’m a “new teacher” again in year 17 and have to learn all new things.

Love the creativity of my #jamazing 8th graders! Creating symbolic representations for characters from The Outsiders and blowing me away with their creativity and deep thinking!

Before starting a project heavily focused on symbolism they had a ten minute challenge to create a symbol about themselves using only 3 pipe cleaners in a limited time. Results were #Jamazing

Bus duty is my favorite part of my #JAMazing day because I get to see all my kids from last year! It’s a daily bus reunion… I wish I could get a pic of all of them! How lucky am I to follow these awesome kids to middle school?! #ShineBrightEdison

Adjusting to middle school after 16 years in elementary has been new, but moments like this make it so sweet. One of my #jamazing students packed me homemade cookies and decorated the bag! Loving forming relationships in my new school.

This meme will probably be dated by the time the kids come 9/6, but so excited for this bulletin board. Made some for the books we read and/or are popular, and have a template for the kids to make their own of books they’d recommend.
