All the IGN journo's I've met over the years are genuinely interested in the craft, so I don't buy the corruption angle that everyone is touting. I know funding is tough for everyone right now, but I have no problem if they're trying to make a statement about the current state of the industry. @CardySimon

This may be the wrong take, but I kind of get why IGN gave Mixtape a 10/10. There's always been a kind of snobbery in the game industry about what constitutes "a game". In the 90s CD-ROM games were derided because they focused on visuals over gameplay - which is sacrosanct for most devs. So it was the traditional platformers and shmups that took all the accolades. You can argue about where the money came from, or the ideology behind a game, or the devs themselves endlessly but it always comes down to whether its a good game or not. I'd rather see publishers and devs taking risks than just repeating the same ideas as nobody "owns" the idea about what art is.

Really, really enjoyed Saros. Feels incredibly slick to play, even if its story ambitions aren't quite ever fulfilled. By no means easy, but definitely friendlier than Returnal. Hit credits just after 9 hours, but still have plenty left to do. Housemarque still haven't missed.
