For years, Lucie visited families, teaching them about hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention. That was all she could do until she was selected to participate in a project that supports women to become community health entrepreneurs. Today, she is able to provide health care to families across her community. care.org/news-and-stori…

More than a decade after conflict began, Syria remains one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises. In northwest Syria, where Yasmin lives, many communities have been displaced multiple times, while damaged infrastructure, limited job opportunities, and rising prices have made daily life increasingly difficult. For Yasmin, those realities became clear soon after her husband died. “We only ate bread for weeks and months." care.org/news-and-stori…

“Displaced women are giving birth in schools, cars, and overcrowded shelters with no privacy, no clean water, and no medical support. These conditions not only risk lives, they also strip women of their dignity. The psychological impact on women and families is immense. Across the region, displaced women and girls face escalating risks of gender-based violence, sexual exploitation and abuse, and trafficking.” - Nour Beydoun, CARE’s Regional Advisor on Women, Girls and Protection care.org/media-and-pres…

We are deeply alarmed by the sharp escalation of conflict in the Middle East. The conflict is threatening the lives and wellbeing of millions of people. Countless communities are stricken by trauma and the fear of what may come next. We call on parties to conflict, and those with influence, to make every diplomatic effort to secure an immediate cessation of hostilities across the region. Yulia, a social worker in Ukraine, has been through several major evacuations over the last four years of war. As the frontlines continue to shift and the future remains uncertain, she, like many humanitarians, has rebuilt her life and work again and again, moving wherever she can to continue helping others. bit.ly/4azckSr
