What if staying healthy started closer to home?
In Apopka, Florida, a rural community is gaining access to health screenings and research opportunities right where people live.

Clinical research shouldn’t only happen where research has always happened.
It should be closer to where people live, shop, work, and care for their health.
That’s the idea behind the first Clinical Trial Center by Walmart and Care Access locations, opening in Houston and Tyler, Texas, and Dalton, Georgia.
Located at the front of Walmart stores, these centers are designed to make research more practical and approachable: a place for community members to learn about clinical research, receive health screenings, and explore whether participating in a study may be right for them.
Care Access will operate community health screenings and clinical trials at each location, with Walmart Healthcare Research Institute helping expand awareness and access through Walmart’s community presence.
This is what expanding access looks like: research closer to home, built around people’s daily lives, and designed to help medical innovation better reflect the communities it serves.
