This hat being included in the @atari 2025 recap video holds huge significance for me. The logo on the front is the “OmniByte” and is central to Cartridge Wars, a game/event I am co-creating with @snakeynft on the Atari Club Discord. BACKGROUND… I’m a big believer that immersive storytelling is one of the most powerful tools out there in building communities and audiences that care about your product/brand/IP. Giving people a role to play in the development of a plot, a theme or an idea - welcoming them in as part of not only the journey but also the creative process - strengthens the bond between player and creator and fosters the kind of loyalty that neither money nor promises can buy. STORY… Within Cartridge Wars, the “OmniByte” (on the hat) represents the power source of Atari City. And, over three chapters since late 2024, a growing community (the Atari City Alliance) has helped protect the OmniByte from attackers, also researching further ways to harness its power as the game expands. CONCLUSION… To me, the little sprite itself has become a symbol of hope, community, determination and possibilities. Not just inside Cartridge Wars but now outside of it as well. And seeing it crop up in this 2025 wrap video is a huge testament to what you can achieve in the space of 12 months. Thanks to @atari for believing in an idea. Happy New Year, everyone.
