Rabbinic Judaism valued the mother as a 'nefresh,' a person, but not the unborn. If God is omnipotent & omniscient, and Scripture is God-breathed, and abortion is murder, that lack of prohibition makes no sense.

Our old guy ~13. He's at a new vet, since our normal one is closed. I wanted to go but my wife urged me to stay home. So just laying here with the younger dog. My body is in parasympathetic R&R today. Must be due to my dog's sickness -- the emotion yesterday.

Miscarriage means the fetus died. So "no harm follows" must mean "to the mother." If she is harmed, lex talionis. They left it unsaid she's the concern.
