I'm constantly amazed by the financial system today. I called my bank to report a stolen credit card number, and by the end of the call, they had already pushed an update to change the CC number on my Apple pay.

Required v.s. Optional aren't the only two ways to represent field presence. I found github.com/stepchowfun/ty… to be a fresh take compared to Protobuf, Avro, and others.

Need fast interior removal and addition in a list? Implement it as a Binary tree. Binary trees can represent the ordinal of a list of elements, and supports O(log n) delete and add.

In #Java, Unlike a cached threadpool, a scheduled threadpool is fixed in size. That means if your tasks block or take a long time, none of the other scheduled tasks will run. Easy to forget!

@mariofusco It bothers me so much that logging probably incurs a happens-before. Concurrency bogs disappear with logging some times.

How do you prioritize fixing problems? Do you proactively fix issues, even if they haven't happened yet, or reactively fix them, after they happen?

I am thrilled and humbled to be endorsed by GrowsSF for Board of Education. Our schools have real challenges that we face today, and this is a time to turn forward, address these challenges, and create a fresh start for our schools!

We're thrilled to endorse Parag Gupta, Jaime Huling, and John Jersin for SF School Board! Our schools are facing multiple existential threats, including fiscal insolvency. Our endorsement focuses on competence, not politics, and these three will deliver. Full write-up to come!
