Last night I walked into a quiet little village pub. Just low beams, old carpet and a bloke in the corner who’s probably been sat on the same stool since 1998. I ordered a pint, nine quid, got the missus a large wine. Fifteen quid for two drinks. I just stood there for a second like I’d accidentally ordered shares in the building. I remember being 20 and getting pints for £2.50. The economy is so cooked we’re paying luxury prices for nostalgia.

If people who work on low wages still have to pay tax on anything they earn over £12.5k And pensioners have to pay tax on their pension over £12.5k Then those who receive more than £12.5k in value of benefits should pay tax on what they get over £12.5k That is fairness

Manchester United is a perfect example of a club that isn’t properly run. There have been multiple opportunities to move the club forward, and we passed on all of them. We could have gone for Luis Enrique when it was clear he was leaving Spain. We didn’t. We chose Erik ten Hag instead. We had the chance to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The excuse? “We have Rashford.” We could have signed Désiré Doué. The excuse? “We have Garnacho.” We had the opportunity to sign João Neves. The excuse? “He doesn’t fit with Mainoo.” Read that again. Not “is he better?” Not “does he improve us?” But “does he fit our current players?” That’s a mid-table mindset. Top clubs don’t protect players. They replace them. They upgrade. They compete. They evolve. At United, we do the opposite. We protect, we justify, and we fall behind. And now it’s the same story again - “sign players to partner Mainoo.” This is exactly why nothing changes. Until this club starts signing players better than what we have  and creating real competition - not just ones that fit them - we will keep going in circles.

Anyone getting benefits totalling over £12.5k per year in value should have to pay tax. If the pensioners have to, and minimum wage workers have to then so should they. There shouldn’t be a two tier system between those who work or have worked and those who have not
