March 18 was the final installment of SXSW 2026, the ending of a seven day gathering that blended technology and innovation with culture. Throughout the week, hundreds of events unfolded as tech insiders and artists intersected with investors and industry partners. It was a busy week, with many lessons learned and a mountain of information to sift through. At the end of each day, our small team took the time to openly review our notes and discuss the information flow, audio recording our findings and thoughts. And you are invited to be a fly on our wall. For full-subscribers to my Substack page, you have a wealth of analysis: over 6 hours worth as we unpack sessions with AI experts, tech executives, and others directly invested in building our future. I trust this audio library, our informal debriefing sessions, will be of value. Here’s the last of our conversations as we discuss what we learned at SXSW, along with links to the rest of our debriefing sessions.

Today, my flight out of Austin TX was delayed because of mechanical issues... then, finally in the air, I noticed this from my window seat... hmmm. A good advertisement for aluminum foil tape? 😉😆🤪

"But today she announced something different — a shift from trend watching to engaging in something more profound: Convergence. And in a way that struck home personally, she validated what I’ve been doing for more than thirty years. No, she doesn’t know me at all, yet her jump from trend-to-convergence roughly parallels my own work; finding historical patterns-of-thought, observing how apparently unrelated developments arise from the cultural landscape, and then recognizing how those seemingly independent points exhibit commonalities that blend into a larger narrative reflecting broad transformation. I was taken aback. We each work to grasp how various streams-of-thought and adjacent activities produce new confluences, and with it, new consequences. However, our audiences and purposes are kingdom’s apart." Convergence: On the Ground Research Report - Day 3

Our research and learning trip to SXSW, attended by myself and three others as part of Orbis-Sentry (orbis-sentry.org), landed on some interesting discussions regarding religion and Artificial Intelligence: Are we creating a new faith? Is this becoming a church? When AI permeates all domains, with claims of becoming all knowing, “All Intelligence," will humanity look at AI as being god-like? One of our workshops took a little jaunt into the realm of religious speculation. carlteichrib.substack.com/p/convergence-…

A Short Survey of Historical Anticipation: My latest substack article is up and available, a dive behind the meaning of a powerful, three-word phrase - pregnant with meaning. Ultimately, it represents much more than politics, more than platitudes of peace and unity: it speaks to a larger ideal, a faith in the limitlessness of Man — an unbridled hubris. It is the anticipation of a grand collective, a rebuilding and rebranding of Babel. carlteichrib.substack.com/p/it-is-a-big-…

Please pray. 🙏🏻 A mom and dad may have to remove life support from their 12 year old son tonight. Victim in a multi-vehicle crash. Tragic. But they all know and love Jesus.

Is globalization stalling, or just shifting gears? Last week, President Donald Trump chaired the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace, launched under UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and earlier introduced on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos. Officially, the Board is a temporary, Gaza-focused mechanism set to sunset in 2027. Unofficially, it is envisioned as something “far beyond Gaza,” perhaps even “the most consequential International Body in History.” Look closer, and the story becomes more provocative. The Board’s charter does not even mention Gaza; instead, it outlines a mandate to engineer peace and political transition in conflict zones worldwide. Neither fully UN nor wholly private, it is a hybrid instrument that blends the deployment of international forces, reconstruction financing, management and governance. And it has the potential to reshape how sovereignty and authority are exercised. In a stunning rhetorical pivot, Trump now speaks of strengthening the United Nations, even suggesting the Board might “look over” it. If globalization was supposedly dead, the Board of Peace may be its unexpected sequel. The stakes are enormous, and the questions unavoidable. carlteichrib.substack.com/p/melding-for-…

In this edition of Responding to Re-Enchantment, an ongoing conversation on the spiritual shift in the Western world, we explore the rise of neo-Paganism with an eye towards understanding it through a Christian lens. carlteichrib.substack.com/p/responding-t…

Finally!! My substack report is finally live... here's the preamble... -------- Part 10 in our Re-Enchantment series explores the 1992 Earth Summit/Forum, the event that profoundly altered society by making environmentalism the focal point of seemingly all political purposes and cultural meaning. Included in this report are many relevant and important documents, all for you to download as PDFs, including scans of three rare reports that have been sitting in my files for decades: the Alternative Treaty-Making process document (with a message from the Dalai Lama), the Global Forum’s Formati (including lists of exhibitors), and the Information guide for attendees. Plus, I managed to convert an old electronic file of the complete Alternative Treaties, with its introduction and background materials, along with lists of everyone who participated in the NGO treaty process. This is a treasure-chest of material from one of the most important events in the history of the international community. As a paid subscriber you now have a formidable library on the Earth Summit, and particularly the worldview that was beating in its collective heart. These materials, combined with this primer article and the other reports in the Re-Enchantment series, are meant to help you understand and navigate the macro-trends that have shifted cultures, communities and countries. carlteichrib.substack.com/p/re-enchantme…

A successful morning in the shipping containers! As some of you know, we sold our library building last summer and moved everything into two shipping containers for storage - until, hopefully, we can construct a building on our property. But that doesn't mean I can stop working... just that I have to be more strategic, or seek out other ways to access the information that's buried in my metal boxes. Sometimes, however, I have no option other than to go digging, because the documents either don't exist elsewhere, or I would have to spend an inordinate amount of time and money in chasing down the handful of copies scattered across the continent. So last night I worked until 2AM on my Substack report, which dives into some of the goings on at the 1992 Earth Summit/Forum - you know, the event that quietly yet profoundly altered your life by making environmentalism the focal point of seemingly all political purpose and cultural meaning. And I've included in my Substack a load of important and relevant documents that my subscribers can download. But I have some really juicy stuff in my shipping containers, historical docs that I copied decades ago, each helping to frame the event in ways that cannot be captured elsewhere. So... this morning I was up at 7, ripping through boxes of files, and voila!... found 'em! Presently we're scanning and converting these three items to include as downloads, and when my new Substack is up later today, paid subscribers will have access to some truly rare materials! carlteichrib.substack.com

Reports show assisted suicide being offered to veterans and people with disabilities without consent, raising serious concerns about coercion, discrimination, and neglect. Conservatives are pushing a bill to put a stop to this abuse.

A major win for free expression. The federal government has paused its proposed Combatting Hate Act (Bill C-9), a move that will be welcomed by Canadians across the country. The bill would have dramatically expanded criminal law into the regulation of ordinary expression and removed key safeguards that protect Canadians from politicized prosecutions. blacklocks.ca/govt-climbdown… But this fight is not over. The government has promised to revive the Online Harms Act, which threatens free expression through sweeping, vague speech controls. Now is the time to act and stop it before it returns. Take action today. Send a pre-written letter to the Minister of Justice and the Prime Minister, urging them not to reintroduce Bill C-63, the Online Harms Act: jccf.ca/stop-online-ha…

French philosopher/theologian Jacques Ellul once wrote that, "Secularization is always an intermediate stage between a religious society on the way out and the appearance of a new religious structuring." His was an interesting thought, an important analysis. "Game of Gods," my attempt to study and communicate this shift, explores how this transformation took shape, including its observable impact regarding spirituality, culture, politics, and the role of technology ( amazon.com/Game-Gods-Temp… ). With the above in mind, I'm excited to be involved in a series of discussions on the changing dynamics of spirituality in the West. This has been set-up as a six-part conversation between Anthony Costello, Joshua Ryan Farris and myself. Here's part 1. youtu.be/lsKrp_myEgM?si…
