@Hampton_Lakes The Tube is NOT the same as a train. It is meant to be Rapid Mass Transit. A very high frequency service. Tube trains running in excess of 5 minute intervals leads to massive overcrowding ensuring further delays. London is the capital city not some village.

Travelled down to London Friday, train was late from Shrewsbury & then finished at Wolves because of signal problems Travelled back today, got to Brum & couldn't go any further because of signal problems And Londoners moan when they have to wait more than 5 mins for a tube

I'm bored. Let's have a deep dive into what you could get from BL in 1980...

@deirdrenugent4 First car was Renault 5, bought with Credit Union loan. I loved it but wouldn’t start on damp or wet mornings. Solution - let it roll down the hill (lucky I lived at the top) to start. No power steering either but had a radio and tape deck, happy days.

My first car was a rusty Opel Astra. No power steering, broken radio. Today I was driving, guided by Google Maps, listening to Spotify and was able to take a call without taking my hands off the wheel or my eyes off the road. How things have changed!

@GrumpyCounty @LeagueOne25 You clearly don’t understand English. The point I’m making is that it’s pathetic to goad the opposition fans and chuck pyro’s at them.

@Carlover1980 @LeagueOne25 You're right, we've won nothing, but again, pitch invasions when you get to Wembley are standard in the game. Seen it so many times over the years. You clearly haven't. As I said, I think you're better with cars 😉

@GrumpyCounty @LeagueOne25 Garbage. Celebrate with your players if you want to (still bizarre when you’ve won nothing) but straight to away fans to goad them is pathetic

@RayMairead Plus, look at what they're wearing? They are in their little bike-uniforms meaning they are clearly on a recreational ride while everyone else is trying to get to work (or somewhere). If they were dressed for work, its still obnoxious but not as much

@PBMaxTrojan @RayMairead Well you clearly weren’t, otherwise you’d know that there is no rule to say cyclists can’t ride 2 abreast and also that painted cycle crap is not mandatory to be ridden in

@RayMairead I was a cyclist for years - that white line is there for a reason. A)They need to observe the rules of the road, B)They should learn to take turns, but always be drafting! The road is not the place to mix a little exercise on the bike with a great conversation.

@RayMairead That painted cycle lane is not fit for purpose. It’s not wide enough and cars will pass 1 bike far too closely. Riding 2 abreast keeps the inner ride better protected, particularly if they’re inexperienced

You haven't really lived until you've had to push a car with a dead battery, jump in, throw it in 1st gear, and pop the clutch like a pro. Old-school struggles and unforgettable memories.

@Wicket_Weir I’d love one now as a project to restore! Was it the damp starts it particularly didn’t like? Those spark plugs did have a reputation!

Was reminiscing my first car which was a beautiful mini with a walnut dash. Who remembers cold days when you needed to pull out the choke to start the engine but not too much or it would flood & you’d have to wait 5 minutes & try again? It’s a wonder we ever got anywhere on time.
