@LBFlyawayhome Got one! Guess that makes me old (or just northern 🤔?)

@SgtMajFrenchie Enjoy your well deserved retirement Chitra. My dad served with Gurkhas in Malaya and recounted their bravery and steadfastness.

After 40 years, my friend Chitra is hanging up his boots. He joined the 2nd Gurkha Regiment in the 80s and has seen more than most. He’s been on the gate at the Academy for years, keeping us safe. His smile cheers my days. Crikey, I’m going to miss him. #friendship #gurkhas

@wesstreeting @DrHWazir @TalkTV Today my husband is having surgery in Southampton, his surgeons are from India and Hong Kong, his anesthetist from Syria, his nurses from Sri Lanka, Philippines & Nigeria, as well as many British. We are lucky to have talented people who come to work in our NHS.
English

This is completely and utterly shameful.
I’m sorry this happened to you and @DrHWazir, Aadam. This flag 🇬🇧 belongs as much to you as me.
@TalkTV owe you an apology.
By the way, we do have doctors to come to the UK to work in the NHS - and we’re lucky to have them.
Dr Aadam Aziz@Aadam_Aziz
Absolutely disgraceful racism from @jkyleofficial on @TalkTV. As the camera zooms in on me and @DrHWazir on the picket line, he sneers that “a lot of them have come into this country to be doctors.” He based this solely on the colour of my skin. I was born in the UK. I studied and trained in the UK and I currently work as a doctor in the NHS. My grandfather fought for this country in WW2. This is racist, demeaning, and utterly unacceptable.

@RPD2025STELLA So sad to read this, we'll all miss her sweet little face. Sleep well Stella xx
English

Heartbreaking update. Stella passed away peacefully this morning as I kissed her goodbye. Stella won so many hearts, showing how loving and talented #Staffies are. An incredible police dog. Stella will forever be in my heart and always remembered for her amazing smile 🐾💔

@itsafrogslife @mara_yamauchi Men, stealing women's places. Cheats.
English

@mara_yamauchi At least 7 people, probably trans, ran in the female gender category (as they're welcome to do) in UK parkrun yesterday. They were joined by 158,000 parkrunners supported by 29,000 fab volunteers. Well done to everyone who took part. See you all next week!

@mikejwhelan Michael your words touched me deeply. I'm sitting here a few feet from my poorly husband while he sleeps, a brief break from his pain from myeloma. I know your bone weariness, your lack of any comfort. I feel that too. My two faithful spaniels hold me up, we have no family here.
English

@John_Dabell Keep going John, here's hoping for better days ahead for you.

My posts at the moment might not reflect my daily positive narrative of the last 5 years but I am far from done. I'm receiving incredible support on here. Unfortunately, a tiny minority haven't, calling for me to 'be put of my misery' which I find abhorrent. Those people are blocked. I never give up. This will take time. I have the will to live and I will.

I’ll never let them pass alone, without me by their side. Without knowing what love is. ❤️🐾
I’ll never get over Opie’s passing. It just didn’t feel right. He was only 3!
Don’t get me wrong it was the right decision but it was so wrong. He had so much life to live.
He was so happy to see us both. He loved us and we loved him. Even though he’d only been with us at the rescue for a little over 4 weeks. He moved into the house as soon as he became unwell and was very much at the heart of the Wardell family for that short time.
I feel like I betrayed him. When we arrived at the vet last night he thought we’d come to collect him like I have done several times. Even in as much pain as he was in he was trying to drag himself to the door to go home.
He didn’t deserve his.
His mind, heart and soul were not ready but his body was broken.
They all break me but that one really broke me.
Poor Opie. I really hope we get to see those we love once we pass. I want to see that boy running through the fields. He was so unwell when he arrived we never saw that side of him.
He didn’t pass alone. We were with him. It’s a promise I gave to these dogs when I took over this place.
4 hours and 222 miles driving through tears to make sure he knew what love was in his final moments.
