You will likely never experience anything so hard to articulate as grief. Saying "I feel sad" feels too obvious, and not nearly strong enough, but it can be a good place to start. Let people know how you are feeling, so they can find ways to support you.

Aside from the conflicting emotions, did you know that the top most common physical reactions to loss include changes in sleeping, eating, and concentrating? Good to know the next time a griever asks for extra time to complete a task ❤️ - Advanced GR Specialist Andi Meltzer

Never has there been a more apt time to remember that grief doesn’t just belong to death. We can grieve other things too - relationships, job losses, the state of our society, politics. 💔

Beyond Mourning ❤️‍🩹As we give grief a voice 🙏🏼
So true, but sadly people feel the push and shove from a less than sensitive society. I had it said to me exactly one month after the sudden and unexpected death of my Father... “Your still grieving?” We must stop fearing the emotions of the bereaved and give them time. Talk 💜

How long should #grief last? As @refugeingrief says, there is no time limit. Allow yourself to take as much time as you need. And if you need to talk, we're here for you 💜 © Megan Devine #MondayThoughts

In attempting to “be strong” or “be strong for others,” most people hide their own feelings. In effect, when we act strong that way and cover up our honest emotions, we are lying to those we interact with - not to mention that we may be lying to ourselves. via @griefrecoveryNW
