We certainly haven’t forgotten David Seymour’s performance during Covid either.

@KiffinEileen Tonkin & Taylor, your employee wasn’t representing you in any way; he wasn’t working for you at the time or on your premises; he has a right to speak his mind. No-one in the public was inconvenienced. You shouldn’t apologise for him, and you shouldn’t retaliate.

“It is wrong, and contrary to the traditions of our democracy, for a government to use its majority in Parliament to suspend and remove from the service of the people of New Zealand its political opponents”
If there is one message to take from Labour leader Chris Hipkins’ powerful speech during this afternoon’s debate on the Te Pāti Māori suspensions - delivered just before the Opposition was blindsided by Leader of the House Chris Bishop’s motion to defer the debate until 5 June - it is that the decision of the Privileges Committee, along with the government’s continued support of it, sets a deeply concerning and dangerous precedent.
Hipkins warns that such an overreach of parliamentary power threatens to erode the integrity of our democratic institutions and to undermine the very principles upon which they were founded.

Funny how the focus on the National MP who's an elder in the church has disappeared. Media warned off by government?

⚠️ Behold the useful idiot brought in to gaslight women into staying quiet about his government’s sudden & abrupt torching of 33 pay equity claims and the shredding of promised backdated settlements, while simultaneously changing the eligibility criteria to make future claims near impossible.
You honestly couldn’t make this shit up!

It gets worse. Most of the 33 claims that were underway were between 63-68% female dominated. In raising the requirement of female domination to 70%, they have wiped those claims.
National is lying when it says it's not removing pay equity

Perfect example of pay equity. Typical of the government, pulling up the ladder before women can get a look in in other areas of work.

Willis and van Velden on the other hand axe pay equity for women workers but add 10% to their own salaries of more than $300,000, and wonder why they get called names.
