@Mathgarden Love this! I always loved when my students corrected me. It shows that all mathematicians make mistakes (and that is ok!).

My daughter corrected her teacher today when she said "2 to the power of 3". Raya said the whole thing is a power. This is symbolic. Raya now has regained her interest and confidence in mathematics. Two years ago, she was severely depressed and suffered from low self-esteem.♥️

Manipulatives should not be reserved for our Tier 2 and Tier 3 students. They should be accessible for all students. Tier 2/3 Ss may need more practice with them or to be shown again how to use them, but they shouldn't be a tool for only our struggling students. #elemmathchat
