Did you all ask for anything specific for a second baby beyond diapers? Doing a small shower since it is a boy this time, but thankfully I kept all the big baby gear from my first. Hoping I don’t miss anything though.

@jubunnies Idk, I don’t want to minimize that it made you feel weird, but when I was 14 and had my ovary removed due to a cyst, the surgeon told us he looked at my appendix while he was in there and decided to remove it too bc it looked inflamed

I had my appendix out when I was 14. After the surgery, the doctor goes "and while we were in there, we had a look at your ovaries too, everything looks good!" and he acted like that was a normal thing to have done

@luinalaska @nonpromqueen Tip for if you try CBD again - there is no need to get the pet specific brands that are usually 2-3x more expensive. Just get an unflavored/unsweetened oil (be sure it doesn’t have xylitol in it) We learned this when needed to source A LOT of CBD for our 100lb epileptic golden

@SpiritedSparr0w I keep our little potty training potty in the back of my car now and have him try to use it before we get in/out of the car when we’re out. I also have a little fold up seat in my diaper bag/purse that I can stick on public toilets!

Very confused on how I’m supposed to take my potty trained 2 year old anywhere in public when there are no toilets his size and holding him over a public toilet is extremely difficult. At church, there is a little potty in the bathroom for kiddos and this is perfect. Anywhere else and I’d rather just take him outside in the grass. Please help.

I didn’t budget for groceries so now we have $190 to make it two weeks & still get groceries, diapers and school clothes. I know this is just a difficult season and we will make it through. It’s just hard to see that right now.

@MrsPA_C I know this is entirely anecdotal, but when my GSD mix was given 2-3 months to live with lymphoma, we started only feeding chicken breast and boiled eggs just trying to make the best of her last couple months… and then she lived for almost 18 months!

@SnarkyMommy78 Diagnosed at 31. My experience is that I actually get to act on my ideas more! I organize them and then can focus on one and actually do it, versus watching the ideas fly back and forth all the time in my head!

My 7yo was diagnosed with ADHD recently. It wasn’t a huge shock because she’s always complained her brain has “too many ideas” that distract her. But today, after meeting with a doctor to discuss medication, she told me she was scared taking it would make her forget her ideas.

@RN_Atheist @MizShannonS @swerpette1 It’s a common misconception (bc marketing!) with collagen is it actually isn’t a complete protein so you shouldn’t include in your macro count. If you look at the nutrition label you’ll see it is 0%DV bc it’s an incomplete amino acid

@mark_joubert I have my own baby Gus (also an Augustus!) and you have all been on my heart these last few days. Your little guy is a fighter, that’s for sure. Praying he remains stable.

Friends: we are so remarkably grateful to report that after hours of working hard to get Gus' blood pressure stable, Gus' heart seems to have steadied out for the time being. He will not be going back on ECMO as of right now. The Lord has done great things for us today! We remain cautiously optimistic, but God has been good to us. We are incredibly thankful for the amazing team of nurses and doctors who acted quickly and efficiently and fought for hours to give Gus this opportunity. They persisted, and God has blessed these efforts and answered our prayers. May God be glorified. Praise the Lord. Please join us in praying for his continued stability tonight. Pray also that after everything he's been through today, inflammation and infection can be avoided. His new heart is still weak, especially the right ventricle. Time is the best thing for his heart now and we are hoping for it to come into full, healthy function in the days ahead. Not out of the woods yet, but thankful for God bringing us this far! @WendyHassonMD Idk how you appeared in my timeline, but I live in PDX, am lacking in the local friend scene, have a 20mo, and talking shit about my husband over Korean bbq sounds like a dream friend date to me. FWIW, I also consider myself to be a solidly normal person.

Making friends as an adult is hard. I’m too tired for any pretense. A mom at my kids daycare asked me to hang out so I asked her if she wants to get Korean BBQ and complain about our loved ones. Are you my people!? Declare yourself now!

@emilykmay This!!! I often think about how a care.com (or something of the like) screened nanny just sat in the parking lot of a grocery store they could rake it in just offering to sit in the car with peoples’ kids while they grocery shop!!

i'm just a mom, sitting in her car outside of Trader Joe's, thinking about how I just need three things. and i do not want to take two children out of car seats and put them in a cart.
