Champagne Fallet Dart Millésime 2016. I’m so impressed with this house and the incredible value of their wines. The family has been vignerons here in Charley sur Marne for over 400yrs. The vintage is 70% CH / 30% PN with a portion fermented in oak.

Stunning dinner at Matt & Barbara Lambert’s new RETURN restaurant in Ponsonby. For just opening they also have one of the best wine lists in Auckland, something that’s a big issue here… We had the Conterno Fantino Langhe Nebbiolo which is such a good match with a range of food.

Hosted a @louisjadot 2023 tasting at @CarosWines . Nothing but Premier & Grand Crus so this was an outstanding lineup. Highlights for me the Puligny Clos de la Garenne, Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées and the Gevrey Chambertin Clos Saint Jacques. This vintage has a lot of charm.

Some Easter Friday cheer! @DeepWoodsEstate Reserve Chardonnay 2024. One of the best cult examples from Margaret River. Power intense and concentrated with a perfect touch of reductive character. Cellar this bad boy for a while.

@wblakegray Fantastic that you got to try the ‘La Vigna di San Martino ad Argiano’. It’s a stunning wine. Very rare, Giampaolo only has a 1ha vineyard and there’s only a couple thousand bottles of Riserva produced, along with with few hundred bottles of Vin Santo.

In 2013, Chianti Classico Riserva was one of my favorite wines in the world.
Then I stopped drinking it for 12 years for reasons I explain in the story.
I revisited the category in February, and it's still great: good wines, good values. Check it out!

What a lineup from @ViettiWines tonight! Their whites are some of Italy’s best, but their single Cru Barolo are absolutely legendary. Full house for this evenings event. If you haven’t tasted any of these yet, that needs to change!

When I toured NZ two years ago, the Abel Chardonnay was my go-to in restaurants. This is a new vintage to me & it's just as impressive, with more matchstick & popcorn than the 2020. Blind, you'd have to be in Puligny-Montrachet—but it's from Upper Moutere, #Nelson
