@HMorrisfac22384 @FroggoingIt ONE utilizes the fact that theyre objects extremely well as well as having thematic reasons for being an object show. TNM utilizes object show conventions pretty well too. these shows are object shows for a reason, not just as a crutch for a lack of artistic ability

its not that all object shows HAVE to be the exact competition formula as BFDI with no deviation or innovation, its more that some shows just don't need to be object shows or have the characters be objects, making them feel kind of unfocused

i never understood the sentiment of "if you don't make your object show the same format as bfdi it shouldn't be an object show" do you not want variation in the osc? how do you not get tired of watching the same formula with slightly different characters? please branch out man

@FroggoingIt @HMorrisfac22384 because making the characters objects changes the way the viewers see the characters and the story. you wouldnt be able to take like. breaking bad seriously if they were all talking objects for no reason

@rosepupz i think just being a competition tends to be seen as enough just because thats the basis of the genre so its just sort of like. intuitive in a way. i agree with what ida said tho even competition shows should utilize the fact that theyre objects

if youre not gonna utilize object show conventions or the fact that they're objects, then what you get is just a weird choice that doesn't really contribute much and can even take away from the effect you want the show to have

object shows are a genre, branching out and innovating is fine but it is generally good to at least find some way to build off of the genre's conventions. you gotta ask yourself, "is this an object show or a show with objects" because there is a difference

Easy to criticize cuz i made it but everyone who makes it with me are some of my closest friends and i always feel a sense of passion when i watch the episodes. I can tell everyone who makes it really has a deep love for the show and ill always see that as a big accomplishment.

@nomcs400 @993dYT Ok yeah everyone says that but that doesn’t make it narratively or thematically satisfying or coherent There wasn’t like any foreshadowing or themes previously in the show that could point toward an ending like this, it was clearly going a different direction before pivoting
