@dishwasher366 The problem with the rose was that it led people to think kris actually SAd her in the scene. the SA allegory is a perfectly acceptable reading of the story but it isnt what literally happens in the game which is why he changed it

Using “deflowering” as an allegory for Kris’s actions (as well as the player) is deeply disturbing, powerful and precise. It’s a dangerous, possibly triggering choice.

In retrospective Toby changing the withered rose visual to the cracked class in the Weird Route was GENIUS. Because Noelle felt like she was "just looking at her own life through the glass" before this moment! Not to mention Deltarune's theme of broken glass being broken dreams.
