15 March 2016. Historian Asa Briggs died (aged 94). He was a leading specialist on the Victorian era, writing several seminal books on the subject and also an expert on cultural history in the 20th century writing a definitive 5-volume history of British broadcasting.

@simonmontefiore Agreed - @robertservice00 is exceptional on Stalin, Lenin, and Trotsky, as well as his surveys of the Cold War and 20th century Russia. Highly recommend.
