One of many far-left detractors I share with Jesse Brown is Colin Chepeka. Chepeka recently wrote a three-part series dismissing Brown’s podcast about antisemitism in Canada as “a vehicle for [his] right-wing Zionism.” In 2023, the same man (now a doctor of philosophy) chased and cornered me with a Progress Pride flag during a public demonstration outside a library. The coordinated aggression was a direct response to the Canadian Anti-Hate Network’s call for protesters to “ice out fake journalists.” Not everyone who fashions themselves a thinker is willing, or even capable, of entertaining thoughts that fall outside their ideological framework. 📸 Jan 14, 2023 #Peterborough #ProtestMania

Jesse Brown is in the unenviable position of being targeted by former fans on the “progressive” left, many of whom appear to feel betrayed or aggrieved by his opposition to antizionism. Few people are attacked more viciously than perceived left-wing apostates. So it is not surprising that a protester disrupted the Nuance launch at the Al Green Theatre inside the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre. Beyond animus toward Brown, special guest Chrystia Freeland is also viewed with contempt by activists angered by her approach to Israel/Palestine while serving in cabinet. What is surprising is that it took nearly a full minute for police to intervene after the protester got within inches of the stage. In protest terms, a minute-long disruption can feel like an eternity. It is unfortunate that event organizers now have to seriously consider security precautions. I learned that firsthand in 2021 after my comedy show was blockaded by Antifa activists, who then blamed me for the violence they caused while labelling me a Nazi and white supremacist. A wild turkey in your yard isn't a pest, but a native species that almost disappeared and came back because hunters, biologists, and state wildlife agencies spent 50 years bringing it back.

Despite this being an obviously newsworthy event, some demonstrators resorted to violence and intimidation to try and bully my videographer out of recording the scene.
