I think one of my biggest issues with the Purdue program is the continuation of using redshirts. I know it’s important for the development, but in the transfer portal era, there’s no longer a guarantee or even a likelihood that player stays 4 additional years after redshirting. This years Purdue team could really use Raleigh Burgess and Antoine West. Instead, they sit on the bench. I just hate the idea of that. Medical is one thing. But just redshirting makes no sense.

This isn’t a hate post. This is simply facts stated. Omer Mayer is now 9-34 from three on the season. 26%. He is taking 28% of the shots when in the game (highest on the team) with an effective field goal percentage of 45% (2nd lowest on the team). He has the lowest offensive rating on the team (by a lot). He has the second highest turnover rate on the team. He has the worst rebounding percentage on the team. If Purdue wants to get to its peak, this has to change.
