@brotherjosh1 That’s what I want to do. My wife drove a 2014 Lexus RX 350 for 11 years. It’s got 145K miles on it. I told my wife we don’t need to buy anything right now. Let her drive the Lexus. The problem is, her little friend got a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon for her 16th birthday.

My kid is a rising senior. We’re looking at cars for her. She asked to look at the new Broncos… 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 $35000 & up. I decided to look at a RAV4 thinking I could find something less than $20000. They’re $30000 plus. I guess entry level vehicles are a thing of the past.

@the7maxims I have a rising senior as well and planned on giving her my car (paid off and safe/reliable) and just buying myself a new one. We’ll see though, her driving is terrible and has a long way to go. If not, she’ll be receiving an old beater to take to/from school.

The Picture That Almost Didn’t Happen: I was in the Atlanta airport on my way home to Phoenix — Sooner through and through. I’d just left Augusta, where I was speaking at a men’s event, still wearing my Masters hat. Walking through Terminal F — the last terminal, the forgotten terminal, the one with three food options and a prayer — I spotted him. Tall and noticeably in shape. He had the kind of stature that makes you do a double take even in a crowded airport. I looked up and immediately said… “Boomer Sooner.” He locked eyes. Then smiled. I needed to be sure — “@coachjoshheupel” He said, “Yes.” Realizing I wasn’t hostile, he relaxed and said, “You caught me off guard.” I kicked myself. No pic. But I was still in range. One problem — a food court cashier who had ZERO interest in my timeline. The airport intercom was blaring overhead, people were shuffling past, and this woman was moving like we had nowhere to be. Ma’am, with all due respect, I need you to move like the 2000 Oklahoma offense right now. I watched him down the corridor. Family gathering around him. Cashier still in her own timezone. I snatched my bag, thanked her, judo-moved everything to my left hand, phone to my right. Selfie mode. One motion. I didn’t want to be that guy. So I slowed my pace, caught his attention and said: “There’s only one game a year I’m not rooting for you. I’ve followed every stop — and wished you nothing but the best.” He smiled. I asked if he’d mind a quick pic — didn’t want to interrupt his family time. Without hesitation: “No problem at all. Sure, let’s do it.” Warm. Gracious. Incredibly kind. A pastor in a Masters hat and a football coach in an airport. The pic turned out great — almost as good as the 2001 Orange Bowl. The last QB to bring Oklahoma a national championship deserves nothing less than my full respect. I’ll never sing Rocky Top, but I’ll always root for Coach Heupel’s success. Except when he plays my Sooners. 😄 #BoomerSooner
