Rick Majerus told his players in the offseason to “be back-doored all summer.” 1. Deny every pass (ear to chest, maintain vision of the ball, crack of your back toward the ball). 2. On the catch, make offensive players put the ball on the floor. The hardest thing to guard is staying in front of the ball. “I don’t care if the offensive player is a non-shooter — play one arm’s length away as though he is the greatest shooter in the game. Nose on chest, and level that dribbler off.” #MondayWithMajerus

“It’s not what you know as a coach, it’s what your players can do under game conditions,” Mike Krzyzewski Great teachers don’t give the answers, they provide the practice needed to successfully perform under pressure.

Absolutely love this Raising the standard involves raising a teams understanding of what “hard” is Eventually the hard will become easy, and the goal post will move

Great stuff here from Coach Caldwell. She opens up about practice struggles in year one of time at Tennessee. When putting your stamp on a program, your first goal is quality practice habits and raising the bar on what “hard” is.
