You don't always get the path you want. But you will always get the path that will challenge and develop you. It's gratitude that makes the difference between going through something and growing through something.

Being a good coach means telling players what they need to hear, not just what they want to hear. Being coachable means receiving correction without mistaking it for criticism.

Pressure is part of life. The goal isn’t to protect kids from all of it. The goal is to raise kids who can stand in it without letting it define them. Loved before the win. Loved after the struggle. The strongest kids know who they are before the world tells them who to be.

“The whole fun of why we play sports, it’s about the toughness. As a coach you have to allow some of that to happen in practices so when you get to games, it’s second nature. As a player you want to up that level of play within practices, within games so that its contagious,” Brigid Duffy

To sport moms: The ones who sacrifice their weekends, sleep, gas money, quiet mornings, and personal space so we can chase our passion. You drive, wash, pack, cheer, pay, wait, worry, and somehow make it all happen. We play the game, but you’re the reason we get to.

To every sport mom: You were there before the lights, before the crowd, before the scoreboard. You packed the bags, drove the miles, wiped the tears, cheered the loudest, and loved through every win and loss. The athlete gets the jersey. But you built the heart inside it.

It’s hard to believe you can win if you don’t commit to doing what winning requires each day.
