it seems like the people who rely on their own research instead of medical professionals are the same people who think the pope isn't catholic enough #dunningkruger

The linguistic phrase hurting my head today: "I bring with me..." as in "I bring with me 10 years experience" Is there ever a case where the "with me" is not redundant? I need to know if I can bring something somewhere without bringing myself.

Very excited today for our new preprint reviewing evidence that a greater focus on extensive data collection within individuals is critical for identifying biomarkers with clinical utility (psyarxiv.com/48u5r/) A 🧵... /1

When dolphins cooperated on a task in a noisy environment, the animals were not so different from city dwellers on land trying to be heard over a din of jackhammers and ambulance sirens. They yelled. nyti.ms/3XBzyy3

@CaseyRiedmann So true... maybe untangle is for concrete objects and disentangle is for abstract ones, by convention?

@dan_c_king Could be! untangle the rope, disentangle the argument. I just think of it all as "untangle" but maybe others make this distinction

I hear the word "disentangle" constantly, especially in academic spaces... Personally, I tend to use "untangle" but I'm not sure if people reserve "disentangle" and "untangle" for separate contexts, or they just prefer "disentangle" overall. Thoughts anyone?
