@rtralphy Lived in Adelaide my whole life. Didn’t even know we had a writers festival. Just thought it was the Adelaide Test match, public holidays for a group 5 horse race. footy, pie floaters, well paid sprinkler fitters,
Lennies and the black rose piano bar ….

So he's out for the 2032 Adelaide Writers Festival

@AVFCOfficial It’s like speed dating. Just need to move on before someone falls pregnant. That said, I am a nuffie so trust Emery!

@AndrewFaulkner9 Heard Hayden on TMS talking about the 1993 Ashes Tour. He played 10 tour matches and made 1000 runs. Didn’t play one test. Ironically, I was there and remember none of it. You could select a top 6 from that era who played minimal test matches that would be walk up straters now!

Congratulations South Africa. Worthy Test champions. Unfortunately Aus's ongoing batting decline bites hard in the #WTCFinal

Hardest keeper catches of the lot -- outside edges from an off-break. Beautiful glovework. And Lyon's bowling magnificently. #SLvAUS

@PatMcAfeeShow I will add “Slaughtered” with “Root” and “Fanny” that mean something different in Australia.

@adamzwar Miss the days of Marsh and Boon having us 0/50 off 15 overs are salivating for 220.

@rohan_connolly @rushtheband @rushisaband What about the voice of Geddy Lee
How did it get so high?
I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy?
I know him and he does
And you're my fact-checkin' cuz (aww)

And whilst I'm banging on about Rush, here's a piece I wrote about them, the bizarre way in which I came to their music relatively late in life, and my 2010 pilgrimage to see them play in Canada. Hope you like it.... @rushtheband @rushisaband #footyology

@rohan_connolly @YouTube First 5 albums are iconic. Athens, Georgia had a population of 40,000 at the time and produced REM and the B52’s.

R.E.M just had so many great songs beyond the 2-3 you've heard ad nauseum on commercial radio for the past 35 years.... like this, for example. Might do list of my Top 10 songs of theirs soon.

@danbrettig Time to play a “25 day” series in India and just see how many test matches you can fit in?
English

Australia’s victory in Indore, completed before lunch day 3, means in 19 Tests played since the BCCI signed a deal for internationals with Disney Star in 2018, 30 days have been left unused due to rapid finishes. Only 3 Tests have got to day 5 #INDvAUS theage.com.au/sport/cricket/…
