Not every day you see waste turned into something pretty valuable.
Zethos is doing exactly that in Christchurch, taking industrial waste and turning it into critical minerals using less energy.
That might sound a bit niche, but this stuff matters. It’s the kind of work that actually creates more jobs, lifts wages, and means more money flowing back into New Zealand.
The more of this stuff, the more Kiwis benefit. As I keep saying it’s all about the economy!
So it’s been great to get along here today with National’s Candidate for Christchurch East Alexandra Davids and Minister Penny Simmonds for the official opening of Zethos’s demonstration plant.

Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil was found dead after hours of searching under rubble. She was killed in an Israeli strike, after the Israeli army fired at ambulances trying to reach her, delaying her rescue.
She is the fourth journalist killed by Israel while in the field since 2 March.
She was a professional, kind and dedicated journalist, and always a pleasure to run into in the field.
