I am thrilled to announce that I will be joining @AuburnU @AuburnEngineers in Chemical Engineering as an Assistant Professor in January 2022! War Eagle! My lab will develop & apply novel materials/polymers for membranes & other processes in water treatment & resource recovery.

We also thank key funding sources for this work, including @NSF for the NSF-GRFP of C. Porter and R. DuChanois and for @NEWTCenter, and the 2018–2020 @NWRIwater - @AMTAorg Fellowship for Membrane Technology awarded to C. Porter.

Bottom-up synthesis of TEAMs affords a high degree of control and tailor ability that are instrumental in fundamentally understanding membrane transport and in enhancing selectivity. TEAMs reside at the precipice of applications like resource recovery and water softening.

instagram.com/p/CTF5ARMsQmk/… A paparazzi shot from Yale Press. I helped my daughter move into Yale College yesterday. But this photo was taken after the move, and I was with my another, younger daughter (who enters high school this year) 😅

@justletitgo101 @AveragePm @joshsoren151 @tiredgenerally Two, science takes resources such as space, time, materials, and energy, which are limited. I think you think science is like magic. Wave your hand and all problems can be solved. Not so. Some of the best solutions are preventative. You don’t seem to like those…

@justletitgo101 @AveragePm @joshsoren151 @tiredgenerally I have never said “I support Malthus.” I am telling you how scientifically there are limited sources. I cannot understand how you think mass and matter can be created. Newton’s laws of conservation of mass show this cannot be done.

@BakaKarasu @justletitgo101 @joshsoren151 @tiredgenerally They correctly identify that below 2.1, the population begins to fall. Has to do with mortality versus birth rate, not size of population. 2 folks per 2 children in their lifetime, plus premature death (the 0.1 part) maintains. This stands regardless of starting population size.

@BakaKarasu @justletitgo101 @joshsoren151 @tiredgenerally Yes, I understand the math. Growth, maintenance, and decline all can occur with fertility rate decline, depending on how much decline. Many developed countries are choosing to have fewer kids without any restrictions imposed to a point where population is decreasing.

@justletitgo101 @AveragePm @joshsoren151 @tiredgenerally I take particular stances case-by-case, based on logic, morals, data, and projected consequences. You’ll be surprised to know some of the ideas I support that are not “progressive.” You may want to stop stereotyping based solely on someone writing their pronouns on their bio.
