@CypressDahlia Ateez Hongjoong was a music producer and rapper selected to become their company's first idol. Mingi joined later as another rapper. Seongwha auditioned as a rapper but as they already had two top notch rappers, he was made into a singer/visual.

My big issue with KPop "rap" is that obviously they don't recruit rappers. They teach whoever graduates pretty boy/girl idol school how to act like a rapper and they tell that one to wear a headband in the music video. They filter for singing and dancing, but not rapping.
