Shocking story today from Christopher Biggins @onebiggins when his electric Fiat car just stopped with no warning on a busy road. And whatever caused the electric car to suddenly stop also rendered him unable to leave the vehicle as the doors and windows wouldn't open. The car was fully charged that morning and Fiat have no explanation. Biggins 'phoned the RAC who said it could take 6 hours to attend even after he explained he was an elderly gentleman who needed his medication which was at home. The police refused to attend despite the danger posed by the Fiat being immobile in the middle of a busy road with traffic thundering past. Eventually and after a traumatic wait in the vehicle, the car door finally opened and Biggins managed to walk free unharmed. Biggins is now looking to get rid of his electric car. And I don't blame him one bit. What a dreadful experience. 😱

This is shocking. A protester has been arrested outside Hartshead Meats today. The police officers were already well aware of the motivations for this protest, and the only intention has been to raise awareness about the recently exposed torture of cows inside. Recent hidden-camera footage shows Hartshead workers of various backgrounds committing egregious acts of cruelty to animals inside the facility. The protesters’ focus has always been on the treatment of animals and the conduct inside the slaughterhouse, not on anyone’s race or religion. Adding to this madness, to our knowledge, not a single Hartshead worker has been charged in relation to the horrors captured on the hidden-camera footage, yet a peaceful protester has now been arrested. This appears to be serious overreach by these officers. At the time of posting, the protester is still in police custody.

Shah Wept. McMahon Fled. The Night Labour Lost Oldham. The results came in across the night. By the time it was over, Labour held 18 seats. Reform 16. The Oldham Group 11, with the Coldhurst Independent folding in to make 12. Lib Dems 6. Conservatives 4. Two Royton Independents, two Shaw Independents, one Failsworth Independent. Arooj Shah sat alone and wept. She was not the only Labour politician in tears. Jim McMahon had fled. What collapsed in Oldham last night was not just a vote share. The Muslim bloc vote, the machine Labour has run on for two decades, fractured from the inside. The sectarians pulled one way. The Greens pulled another. And while that was happening, White working-class turnout hit record numbers. Those voters did not just come out for one party. They came out to also bury one. Shah has already reached for her usual line. Reform are the divisive ones, the dangerous ones, the bad guys. That argument is dead. It will not survive the arithmetic on that results board, and I doubt it survives even amongst her remaining councillors. McMahon's days are also numbered.
