Today, at the Giardini, the Central Pavilion was unveiled following its complete renovation, made possible by public funding from @MiC_Italia as part of the #PNC of the #PNRR. Interior of the Church of San Michele in Isola, on Venice’s cemetery island. It’s supposed to be open from 8:45-11:45 but the guard tried to block me from entering at 11:25, thinking I was a tourist. He did not succeed😁 I wished him a “buon pranzo”

@ArtAngelNYC San Michele was the first church designed by Mauro Codussi, and one of the very first examples of Renaissance architecture in Venice (finished 1469). I hadn’t been inside for 15 years cause it’s always closed. Now I know why. The guy just closes it up!

Dante’s Barque is afloat in the Venice lagoon! The haunting bronze sculpture was created by renowned Russian sculptor Georgy Frangulyan after he saw the image in a vision. It had sunk. @msjanebond007 Baccalà Mantecato is really delicious. I’ve never tried to make it, though. There is a great tramezzini place at Rialto that serves it with asparagus. Yum!
