He walked through fire, by himself, to save men in his unit and was awarded the Silver Star. That’s the bloodline I come from. My best friend was a Marine. My son-in-law served two tours in the Gulf War. So don’t question where I stand when it comes to this country and the people who defended it. I’m not running a fake campaign. I’m building something from the ground up — the hard way — because I believe this country can do better. One of the things I’m fighting for is making sure no veteran ever sleeps on the street again. That’s part of my Veterans Act. No man or woman who served this country should come home and be forgotten. You don’t have to believe in me. That’s your right.
