Two years ago, my grandfather passed away and left me a 10-acre parcel of timberland worth $150,000. It was my prized possession, a peaceful piece of land I planned to keep in my family forever. Last week, I drove out to inspect the property, only to find a commercial logging crew clearing trees and setting up heavy machinery. I confronted the crew foreman, who handed me a copy of a signed timber rights contract..signed by my husband. I drove straight home and threw the contract on the kitchen table. "Why is a timber company cutting down my grandfather's land?!"
